An astonishing debut!

The majority of bands you would consider a good listen are those that have formed out of friendship and a untied passion for everything musical; Sky Harbour fall within this category. They are four friends who met in Brighton after leaving their hometowns around the UK and are now passionate about making Sky Harbour a name on everyone’s lips.

Since forming just a short time ago, Josh Rowley (Vocals/Guitar), Tim Lewis (Guitar), Dan Bradley (Bass) and Jake O'Sullivan (Drums) have already put pen to paper, paper to music and been in the studio recording this debut Ep "Words Best Left Unsaid". It may only consist of four tracks, but they bring together influences of each member and introduce the public to their sound. What they have on their hands is an interesting mix between Alternative Rock and Punk. The opening title track instantly has the energetic influence to make you sit up and pay closer attention then gently eases you in with its melodic nature and pleasant vocals. ‘Question Everything’ takes on a tougher exterior but remains lighter with the vocals. They had the obvious option to run with the melodies and take a gruffer touch, but they haven’t which is a positive decision. ‘April Showers’ is so musically and vocally strong it is an incredibly accomplishment. After three mind-blowing numbers, you wonder how these lads could possibly conclude the record; with the unbelievable ‘The Unknown’ is the answer. This one is slower than its predecessors but in no way reverts from the style that they have done so well in crafting as their own way.

It is a shame there are only four tracks on 'Words Best Left Unsaid' as after fifteen minutes of listening to Sky Harbour, you could well go on to listen for another hour. With tracks such as these, there is no doubt they have a bright future ahead, a definite big band in the making!
