JAW Fail to Impress

There is a pretty feeble crowd for JAW when they make their entrance on the Napster stage. JAW feature dual vocalists accompanied by bass and drums but today the mix on the vocals is particularly bad and this doesn't help the overall sound. Initially I can't help thinking they would be vastly improved by adding some guitar. The music is a little like the Beastie Boys without the good tunes!

Many people pass through the tent during their set but few are persuaded to stay (although it does fill out towards the end of their set). Half way through one of the vocalists does start to play guitar and it appears I was wrong, it makes little difference to the overall impression. The main reason for this is that the songs themselves are just weak.

JAW fail to engage much of the sparse audience and the end of each track is met with a muted reaction. They do try however, bouncing around the stage, getting into it and winning a few people over by launching CDs into the crowd. Ultimately JAW just don't have enough going for them, the last song sees the return of the guitar and is easily their best number but it's one song in a decidedly mediocre set.
