Escape the Fate play Camden's Electric Ballroom

Escape the Fate had fans on the edge of their seats waiting for the release of their new album Hate Me and when it finally was released back in the Autumn of 2015, the fans got an even bigger surprise with the news of an upcoming tour. The last stop on The Hate Me Tour was to be Camden’s Electric Ballroom and the evening was incredible!

Opening with Just A Memory Escape the Fate had the crowd bouncing (literally) off the walls from beginning to end. It was great to see the band perform some older tunes from their anthology such as Guillotine, The Flood, Something and Ashley, the latter featuring the female singer from New Years’ Day. Adding some softer tunes into the mix gave the set a few minutes to breath until the loud, fast paced tunes we have known to come and love from Escape the Fate continued.

The upbeat evening saw some of the new material being performed with such enthusiasm. Performances of Live For Today, Alive and Remember Every Scar just made a terrific album come to life with such energy. Add to this an incredible guitar solo from Thrasher and you have showcased some astonishing talent from these artists.

There was a moment of worry for the crowd mid-way through the set. The members disappeared from the stage and the crowd were left in darkness with just the faint voice of a sound man saying “is everything ok? can you hear me?” and they became rather worried that this was to be the end of the set, just forty minutes. However, when the members reappeared several minutes later to a crowd screaming “more songs”, Craig revealed that there had been an apparent spillage of beer in the sound booth causing a few technical issues. Although appearing peeved and angered, Escape the Fate continued on with the set and gave this last night of their tour absolutely everything they had left in them. The set concluded with This War is Ours where the support bands swarmed the stage and wrapped Escape the Fate up in tissue before they were able to burst into Situations.

Having seen Escape The Fate live several times now, this performance was by all means their most memorable and united as a band. Everyone appeared to play off the energy that was flooding the stage and this submerged the entire crowd. This was a night from Escape the Fate that fans will not be forgetting in a hurry. Here is hoping they don’t leave it as next time to return to UK shores.
