A raging, schizophrenic blend of pitch-perfect vocal melodies, brutal beatdowns and killer pop hooks, The Hurt Process are set to turn the Hardcore scene on it's head!

Combining a love of Hardcore, emo and Pop, The Hurt Process formed just over a two years ago, releasing EP 'Another Day' on Loudspeaker just over six months after forming to rave reviews from the music press, including Big Cheese? Magazine, Kerrang, Metal Hammer, and Rocksound who said: "This EP rocks harder than a Whitesnake roadie at a Venom concert!".You need the hurt process amazing" "Destined to be on the uks hottest new bands"Quickly building a rabid fanbase due to their incendiary live shows and penchant for touring their asses off, The Hurt Process have already been tipped by many to be the British band that conquers all in 2003/04.

This belief has only been increased with the release of 'The Last Goodbye' on Inherited Industries, four songs of heartache, rage and angst that could only be described as the dying screams of 20000 Emo kids being mulched in a blender! There new ep also sees a refining of their sound, creating a more focused, direct and intricate aural assault. The likes of 'Tuesday' channel the spirit of Jeff Buckley into the vocal chords of Boysetsfire's Nathan Gray, while the four track's climax, 'The Sky Bleeding White Butterflies' sees the band move further into uncharted territories.

Bonding over a love of such bands as Quicksand, Thursday, Jimmy Eat World and Atreyu, the band, comprised of vocalists Daniel Laurence and Mark Andrews, guitarists Tom Diamond and Alun Burnet-Smith, bassist Duncan McGilvary and drummer Darren Toms breathe new life into an increasingly stale Hardcore scene. With a emo-style dual-pronged vocal attack that's as soothing as it is serrated, along with claustrophobic and intertwining fretwork, coupled with the best beatdowns and rumbling low-end this side of a Sick Of It All record, the aim of the band is simple according to Darren: " We're trying to get the perfect balance between heavy and melodic. We're one of those bands that can play with really heavy bands and can then head out and play with the poppier bands."

And play they have, racking up shows and tours with the likes of Grade, Shelter, Sick of it all, Norma Jean, Poison the well, Mest, Thrice,Sick of it all,and Funeral For A Friend. In short, The Hurt Process throw down the gauntlet to all those one trick scene ponies who couldn't do something different if their Eastpaks and wife beaters depended on it, at the same time giving the UK music scene a well needed shot in the arm. With a Cameron Webb (The Kinison, Zebrahead, Tenacious D) - produced album done, you'll definitely be hearing a lot more from these guys in the coming months. read less
