Biography

Veteran punks the Cockney Rejects formed in the East End of London in 1979, released their first album the following year but had disbanded by 1985. In 1990 the band briefly reformed to release 'Lethal' before embarking on a nine year hiatus. By 1999 the Rejects had once again reformed, however with only two members hailing from the original 1980s line-up. Playing a distinctly working class brand of punk-rock music, the band in their heyday were associated with hooliganism and the far right, links which the group often satirised. Cited by bands such as Green Day, Rancid and Blink 182 as influences and helping name the 'Oi' subgenre, the 'Rejects had a profound effect on shaping punk music.
