Biography

Sometimes things go to plan and then there is fate, Goldspot fit somewhere between the two. Goldspot are the brainchild of frontman Siddartha Khosla, raised on the east coast of the USA in a household where Indian culture was uppermost and it wasn't until his teenage years that Sid would discover bands like The Smiths, REM and The Cure. It was when Sid re-located to the west coast that Goldspot would be born. All these elements make up the sound of the band.it's that classic mix of Bollywood, the U.S. west coast and British guitar pop. Goldspot recorded their album, 'Tally Of The Yes Men', and released it on an indie label in the US. The plan was to send the album to influential LA DJ Nic Harcourt build up their live reputation and. at this point fate took over. Harcourt fell in love with the record and played every single track on his radio show. Goldspot were beginning to build a reputation in the city of angels but what they didn't know was that Harcourt's producer had thrust the album into the hands of some Englishmen abroad and before long it was being played in the offices of Mercury. Goldspot were soon signed to the recently revived label of Fontana.
