Biography

Peter and the Test Tube Babies are an Oi!/punk rock band formed around Brighton, England in 1978. Due to their humorous tongue-in-cheek lyrics, they have also been considered part of the Punk Pathetique subgenre.[1] Peter and the Test Tube Babies were first featured in Sounds magazine in July 1980, and made their vinyl debut on Oi! The Album later that year. They favoured absurd lyrics and strange titles, such as "The Queen Gives Good Blow Jobs."[2] In 1982, they covered the chart-topping Gary Glitter hit "I'm the Leader of the Gang (I Am)" on their album Pissed and Proud, which got some notoriety, being called a contender for the worst cover version of all time.[citation needed] They have continued to perform in the 2000s. read less
