Biography
Fortune Favours, based in Cardiff, are a brand new band who only formed in June 2006 and played their first gig in July 2006. But despite the brevity of their existence, their first demo has been raising eyebrows.
The two tracks, Tonight We're Breaking Records and Sin Is In show a songwriting ability far beyond expectations, with a powerful and sharp rock dynamic that recalls acts as diverse as The Mars Volta, Therapy?, Coheed And Cambria and Wales' own Dirty Perfect.
Lead singer Pistol Pete says, "We're not a sceney band, mainly because we don't know half the scenes people bang on about. Screamo? Post hardcore? We have no idea, mainly because we don't care. We're a rock'n'roll band."
The band they feel most reflect their ambitions are Motley Crue and their good-time attitude. "When was the last time you read an interview with a band and they didn't bitch about touring, what a tough time they had in school or how their bandmates don't understand them?" asks Pete.
"We're going to tour like Black Flag and party like Motley Crue. A bit like the Rolling Stones or Guns And Roses, only we're going to have way bigger egos and sell way more records."
A single, The Sound Of Your Heartbeat, is scheduled for release in autumn 2007, together with continued extensive touring.
