Biography

Building upon the considerable foundation laid by their cult former band Machine Made Man, Essex based threemovements have strived since their 2003 inception to evolve their already epic sound into something even more ambitious. ‘Electricity Wiped Out Heaven’ is the audio documentation of that journey.

After a handful of live performances, and a recording session at Adelaide Studios, the band agreed a deal with Charger frontman Martin Ives’ Calculated Risk Products label. Martin was a long time admirer of their brooding intensity and impassioned live performances, the essence of which is captured for posterity in the heart of this recording.

Expanding and interpreting their far-flung influences, the sextet have created a true masterpiece. On ‘Electricity Wiped Out Heaven’, their debut release, threemovements exhibit an almost cinematic feel to compliment their already expansive sound. ‘Electricity Wiped Out Heaven’ sounds grandiose and epic, though completely lacking in pretension and self-indulgence.

Cascades of light collide with absolute darkness, as the shimmering peals of guitar entwine with sombre string sections, underpinned by triumphant rhythmic flourishes and soaring vocal melodies. A fitting soundtrack to urban living, ‘Electricity Wiped Out Heaven’ is a beautifully sculptured musical accompaniment to an ugly world.
