Biography

Born out of the industrial Steel City of Sheffield, Koreisch originally released ‘This Decaying Schizophrenic Christ Complex’ in the late nineties via the now defunct Screams Of Salvation label. Not since the strangulated yelps of hoary eighties rock metallers Def Leppard had something so downright offensive came out of the North West.

Despite birthing from the fertile Northern Hardcore scene of the mid nineties, Koreisch sonically shared more of a footing with tree worrying types of Norway than the tattooed pantomime that was UKHC at the time. Displaying an almost ritualistic approach to their music, the band soon made their fair share of allies and enemies with their unsettling live performances. This took its toll, and the band dissolved soon after the albums release. The respective sides went on to birth the freeform art grind combo thekevorkiansolution, as well as fearsome noise mongers Stockton Foster.

Fast forward to present day, and the Koreisch cult has risen again, shrouded in secrecy, welcoming a new line up, as well as a newfound hunger for the extreme. With this in mind, Charger frontman Martin Ives’ Calculated Risk Products have decided to release a remixed/remastered version of ‘This Decaying Schizophrenic Christ Complex’ as a chilling reminder of the awesome destructive power of Koreisch. Boasting the mixing talents of Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer) and his Visceral Sound studio, ‘This Decaying Schizophrenic Christ Complex’ v.04 is even more relevant in these times of depression. This will act as a precursor to a new Koreisch album in 2005.
