Desertfest's expansion in recent years has seen them very successfully establish their occupation of The Roundhouse on the Sunday as one of the true highlights of the weekend. This year's Roundhouse line-up contains some absolute GEMS - here's our overview of what's going down:
Fu Manchu - 21.45-23.00
Following the release of their TWELFTH studio record last year, Stoner Rock institution Fu Manchu are all set for their first ever headline set at London's Desertfest. If Clone Of The Universe is anything to go by, this is a band who are clearly in a rich vein of form at the moment and we're certain that they're heading towards delivering a potential band of the weekend sized performance. No doubt a huge influence on countless bands across the Desertfest line-up this year, this will be one sludgy, high octane, heavy bundle of fun.
All Them Witches - 19.50-21.05
Hailing all the way from Nashville, Tennessee, All Them Witches are a three-piece Psychedelic Hard Blues band whose reputation has continued to grow year on year. Their live performances are raw, intense and really elevate the music they've laid down across their five studio records - the most recent one being 2018's ATW. This will definitely one of the more popular shows across the weekend so make sure you get down early!
Witch - 18.10-19.10
Despite only ever releasing two full length studio records in their nearly fifteen year history, Witch are an incredibly popular unit on the Desert scene with Dinosaur Jr. guitarist J Mascis trading the pick for a pair of drumsticks in heavy yet very calculated doses of groove laden Doom. This is Sabbath worship at it's highest quality and we have a sneaking suspicion that Witch are going to absolutely steal the show at The Roundhouse this year.
Earthless - 16.30-17.30
Part of the huge roster of bands under Nuclear Blast, California's Earthless are a mostly instrumental Psychedelic three-piece whose live reputation is among some of the best featured at Desertfest this year. When watching Earthless live it feels like you are a fly on the wall at a raucous giant jam session as all three members work off each other to add a new level of depth to tracks from across their back catalogue. It's the twists and turn of their improvisation on the live stage which certainly makes them one of the more impressive acts on the line-up in 2019.
Colour Haze - 15.00-16.00
Opening up proceedings at Desertfest this year then are the vastly experienced German stoner unit Colour Haze. This is a band who are now 25 years in to their career and still producing very high standard records with 2017's In Her Garden being their latest. Veterans who absolutely command the live stage.
So there we have 2019's Desertfest Roundhouse line-up - a very strong crop of bands indeed. See you in Camden!
