Despite a relatively quiet summer period for high-profile acts performances across the country, bands are queuing to fly over from the Atlantic this Autumn/Winter and Room Thirteen's Mel Lewis investigates the best of what's to come – a pleasant continent mix in fact...
Jimmy Eat World
Off the back of their highly-anticipated web stream of new track 'My Best Theory', JEW return to the UK with a barrage of dates – most notably up north. Having played at Southampton Guildhall a few years back, rumour has it either the Pyramids or Guildhall in Portsmouth will be added to the tour. Currently, Norwich UEA, Manchester Academy and the closing show at Brixton are intimate highlights for the Bleed American superstars. New album Invented will be out late September.
Paramore
Constantly touring is their motto, but nobody would have expected Hayley and co to grace the UK once more after a sold out arena tour only last December. Off the back of Radio 1's Big Weekend, an upcoming Reading/Leeds show and Williams' appearance on b.o.b's number one hit 'Airplanes', it comes as no surprise Paramore have dared to dream and play two dates at London O2. Other venues include Nottingham, Birmingham and Newcastle.
Emarosa
The band's new self-titled album has been flying off the shelves and the Canadian rockers Emarosa will be coming back to the UK in December. Seems they liked it so much last year – they have returned. Swapping Joiners for Wedgewood Rooms and popular performances at the Relentless Garage London and Nottingham's Rock City, Jonny Craig and co put on a fantastically epic light endorsed live show, one you definitely don't want to miss.
Alexisonfire
Dallas Green popped over for brief stint earlier this year, supporting P!nk and providing the HMV Forum with a delightful City and Colour double date session. This time – he is bringing the rest of the band across the Atlantic and armed with a back catalogue containing three unmissable collection edition albums. It's definitely time to rock. The Forum however will probably attract a slightly different atmosphere...
And lastly...
Futures
My top tip for the coming months is Tonight Is Goodbye's leftover clan – Futures. Fronted by Ant West, the band has seen a phenomenal growth in support since their giveaway with Rocksound. The tour will be supported by local acts as chosen by Futures' Facebook fans and the might Scottish act The Xcerts. See you there?
Of course, this list could be endless, with a Placebo comeback, new music stars Dirty Projectors and an Arcade Fire tour off the back of a headline Reading slot selling fast. Question only lies – how many limbs do I really need and can I exchange them on the Seetickets website?
