Your album’s due out in May, does it comprise mostly of new tracks, or will we see some of our old favourites too?
There will be some of the live favourites and previous singles but everything has been re-recorded and since working with Mike Clink all the tracks have changed for the better, there are also quite a lot of new songs that people might not have heard.
How would you describe the album?
Big, energetic rock ‘n’ roll with a few surprises.
Are there any new albums you’re looking forward to hearing in 2005?
Chinese democracy, but we won’t hold our breath!
The band relocated from Leeds to London; do you feel that London provides a better launch pad for new groups?
Not always – it just worked out better for us at the time.
How did it feel to be recording an album in L.A?
Warmer! It’s a great place with a good atmosphere, but the main reason for recording there was to do with Mike and the studio.
The NME recently published a risqué post about sharing women; does that kind of press bother you?
That was just a light hearted comment, but any press is good press, we don’t really care what people write about us.
What’s been the most rock’n’roll moment of your career so far?
Meeting lots of our heroes.
Which is your favourite song to play live?
It changes from time to time, but we have a song called "Betterman" which we all love playing
Do you find that you adopt any kind of stage persona when playing live, or is what you see what you get?
It's all us, we are not acting or anything but, it's hard to explain, you just seem to have loads of confidence while you are onstage.
All the tracks that have been available to hear on your website seem to have been well protected, are you worried about illegal downloads and will the album be available to download on any legitimate sites?
We aren’t concerned with that side of things; it’s probably the label that’s concerned with things like that. I think we will definitely have songs available for downloading in the future.
You must have had a pretty hectic schedule with recording the new album, headlining your own tour and numerous support slots last year, what do you do to unwind?
We finished mixing the album a few days earlier than expected so we got to spend a few days in Miami, which was cool.
Do you have any festival plans for the coming summer?
We are hoping to play as many as possible, last year was the first time we got to play any festivals and we had a great time.
