The Sound Explosion frontman Glen Roughead has ended up in plaster after breaking his foot in a death-defying leap at a show in Newcastle. Fresh from a UK tour with The Mooney Suzuki, the quartet were playing a headline hometown show when the 20 year old frontman leapt twelve feet from the rafters of venue The Cooperage, over
the DJ booth and landed awkwardly on concrete.

The soul-punk band, whose recently-released album has received acclaim from Kerrang!, Dazed & Confused, XFM, and Radio 1, still fulfilled live obligations in Nottingham and Sheffield before going to hospital. They have had to cancel one show at Swansea Escape, but plan to undertake their forthcoming tours first this week with Million Dead, then Hell Is For Heroes.

Ironically, only days earlier Roughead had stood in on vocals for fellow Captains Of Industry labelmates Hell Is For Heroes when singer Justin Schlosberg damaged his neck.
