This year will see a live music extravaganza with Live 8 - a massive outdoor concert in London's Hyde Park to draw the world's attention to poverty and suffering in the world. Similar events will also take place in Philadelphia, Berlin, Paris and Rome.

London will see acts such as Coldplay, Keane, Muse, Razorlight, REM, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, U2 and Velvet Revolver as well as a whole host of other acts. The full UK line-up can be found here.

The day is set to draw attention to the 50,000 people that die every day due to poverty across the world - instead of making money to give to poverty stricken areas of the world the day will be there to put pressure on the world leaders at the G8 summit on July 6th where a plan has been presented to them to write off the debt owed to the world's richest countries by the world's poorest countries. At the end of the day, it's been twenty years since the original Live Aid and the world is still in the same state.

Tickets for the day are not available for purchase and will only be available through a randomly selected text message lottery. More details on the lottery will be announced on Monday 6th June.
