On November 7th, the biggest live event DVD project of its kind will be released. The four disk set will contain three disks of live footage taken from the Live8 shows that were held in London and Philadelphia, along with key highlights from the seven other shows held around the world on July second. Every act from the shows in London and the USA will appear on the DVD, with many having their whole sets included.
Those who attended the London concert, or who watched it on TV will be able to relive the fantastic opener from Paul McCartney and U2, the historic reforming of Pink Floyd, Madonna's breath taking set and Robbie Williams simply being the ultimate entertainer. As well as this we get to revisit the mix of artists new and old from Snow Patrol and Killers, to Sting and The Who.
If you didn't catch much of the Philadelphia show on the day, now will be your chance to see Kaiser Chiefs fly the flag for the UK, alongside American heavyweights Bon Jovi, Black Eyed Peas and Stevie Wonder. The superstar line up is matched with the highlights from the shows across the world. From Paris Muse and Placebo are included, Greenday and Brian Wilson from Berlin, Duran Duran from Rome, Petshop Boys appearance in Moscow and Neil Young in Canada are all featured.
Disk 3 is rounded off with the all-star cast of the Hyde Park show bringing the curtain down with their unforgettable rendition of 'Hey Jude', and it doesn't stop there.
The final disk features a never before seen documentary filmed backstage at the Hyde Park show, Pink Floyd's Live8 rehearsal, films by The Who and Travis and yet more live performances. Special features will include the final push concert from Scotland where James Brown and Travis were among the stars performing.
"I hope this will be the biggest selling DVD of all time, it deserves to be. More importantly perhaps, it should be, for it will help us achieve our goal of changing the lives of the extreme poor for the better and making our generation the one that helped end the disgrace of poverty," Live8 organiser Sir Bob Geldof.
