The BBC are reporting that ex-talking Heads singer David Byrnes has teamed up with Fatboy Slim to write a musical based on the passion for music and nightclubs of former Philippines first lady Imelda Marcos.
'Here Lies Love' will premier in Australia next spring at the Adelaide Festival and is described as being a "timeless story with more contemporary resonances than are comfortable".
Mrs Marcos was found guilty of corruption in the mid nineties, but her conviction was overturned on appeal.
"She loved the nightlife all over the world, and especially in new York at Studio54," an Adelaide Festival spokesman said.
She installed a disco in her New York house and it was a nonstop party featuring politicians, arms dealers, artists, musicians and many of the international jet set. Mrs Marcos is also famed for her vast collection of shoes.
