Beck has given an indication as to the direction he is taking with his next record, which he has been recording with one time Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

He has told MTV that the record will feature some hip-hop songs: "Before we started, Nigel said he wanted to do a hip-hop record. And in a way it is, and in a way it isn't."

The album has no name as yet, but is due for release this autumn.

Beck has also announced details of a 10-year anniversary reissue of 1996's 'Odelay', which will feature rarities and remixes by Aphex Twin and Dust Brothers.

He is also due to play at this year's V Festival in August.
