Guitarist and singer, Pete Doherty, who has recently discharged himself from The Priory after trying to kick his drug habit, has claimed he's leaving The Libertines. He announced this in an interview with The Sun newspaper where he also revealed that he is going to France with his girlfriend to continue his efforts to kick the drug habit. Pete claims that the rehab was not helping.
This move comes after claims that bandmate, Carl Barat, treats Pete badly. Doherty compared himself to a 'battered housewife' who keeps running back.
Fans, don't despair yet.. Pete claims there is still hope for The Libertines if Carl is willing to reconcile. The band have finished recording their second album, and may still be able to play this summer's festivals.
