33 years since the release of their last album, the blast of rock history that is 'Raw Power' The Stooges will release a brand new offering, 'The Weirdness'. On 19th March the album, featuring three of the four original members - Iggy Pop, guitarist Ron Asheton and drummer Scott Asheton along with Stooges sax player Steve Mackay and newcomer ex-Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist Mike Watt, will hit the stores.
The band reformed in 2005 and played a fabulous reunion tour, but this is their first recorded material since Raw Power and definitely one to watch for 2007.
The album was recorded in Florida and is now being mastered at Abbey Road studios. New titles include Greedy Awful People," "Claustrophobia," "Mexican Guy," "I'm Fried," and 'End of Christianity", so it sounds like the Stooges' sound will be as unpredictable and explosive as ever!
