Punk rock poster boys Simple Plan are set to release their long awaited new album 'Still Not Getting Any...' on Lava/Atlantic Records on October 25. Still Not Getting Any... is the follow-up to the band's enormously successful debut album No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, which sold over 2 million copies worldwide on its release in 2002.
Still Not Getting Any... was recorded in Simple Plan's hometown of Montreal with famed producer Bob Rock. Rock, best known for his work with Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and the Cult, traveled to Montreal to record the band in their native surroundings, in order to capture the band's signature punk/pop sound. 'Bob Rock has made some of the most important records of the last fifteen years including Metallica's The Black Album and Motley Crue's Doctor Feelgood,' remarked Simple Plan's drummer Chuck Comeau. 'These were records we loved and grew up listening to. It's a dream come true that he was willing to travel from Hawaii to Montreal to work with us and produce our new album.'
Still Not Getting Any... shows a tremendous amount of musical growth for the quintet. The album features the undeniably catchy, hook-filled first single 'Welcome To My Life'. Although darker in nature than earlier SP tracks, 'Welcome To My Life' speaks volumes to today's Gen-Y'ers. The album also features the anthemic, mid-tempo track 'Crazy' whose lyrics tackle everything from reality TV to dysfunctional families, the alternative leaning, guitar driven track 'Perfect World' and the up-tempo, straight ahead Simple Plan track 'Shut Up' which features a sing-a-long chorus like no other.
Simple Plan is Pierre Bouvier (vocals), Chuck Comeau (drums), David
Desrosiers (bass, backing vocals), Sebastien Lefebvre (guitar, backing
vocals) and Jeff Stinco (lead guitar). Simple Plan were honoured in 2003 with a MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best New Artist and won the 2003 & 2004 MuchMusic People's Choice Award. The band has also previously appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Pepsi Smash and a variety of MTV programming.
Simple Plan will tour throughout Europe with Avril Lavigne in October, including six dates in UK. The first UK show is in Manchester on October 3, and the tour includes two dates at London's Wembley Arena on October 10 and 11.
