Tommy Lee has quit Motley Crüe in a row over money.
A statement on behalf of the drummer says he has "recently informed Sixx and Mars, the shareholders of Motley Crüe, Inc., that he was resigning from the band and his resignation was accepted."
His exit from the band comes after fellow members Mick Mars, Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx had filed a lawsuit against Lee's manager, Carl Stubner, over a dispute regarding payments.
The statement continues by saying that Lee feels fortunate to have been part of the band's reunion tour, which included a performance at this year's Download,

It goes on to say that "It is unfortunate that others believe that they all could have made more money had Mr Lee exclusively participated in the band that he co-founded in 1980."
