Strummerville hits the Windsor Arts Centre this weekend.
The event runs from Thursday to Sunday, and features live music, DJs, film and theatre.
Friday (19) features DJ sets from Andy Weatherall and DJ Scratchy, the latter was on tour with the Clash from 1978-80. He's played alongside the Ramones, the Cramps, Blondie and Iggy Pop, as well as touring twice with Dr. Feelgood. He teamed up with Joe Strummer again with the Mescaleros, and has gone on to work with the Pogues and now tours with Gogol Bordello.
The Flies will headline the venue on the Saturday (20).
Also across the weekend will be punk poetry (featuring John Hegley), a screening of 'The Future is Unwritten' directed by Julien Temple, and a play titled 'Meeting Joe Strummer. Fresh from a West End run, the hit of Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006, Follows the lives of two young men, one middle-class, one working-class, from adolescence in 1977 to middle-age as they are transformed by Joe Strummer and The Clash's potent mix of rock n' roll, iconic imagery and rebel politics.
