The first acts have been announced for Newcastle’s Evolution Festival, set to take place on the second bank holiday in May.
Confirmed for the Spillers Wharf are The Streets, Kate Nash, Reverend And The Makers, Duffy, Glasvegas, Lightspeed Champion, The Whip, and This Ain't Vegas.
The Baltic Square stage has CSS, New Young Pony Club, Crystal Castles, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Hercules And The Love Affair, Who Made Who, The Ghost Frequency, and Kenevil.
Over 60,000 people are expected to attend the Evolution 08 outdoor show at Spiller's Wharf and Baltic Square on the Gateshead quayside on Monday May 26.
The event opens at 12 PM, with the music finishing at 11 PM.
In the run up to the free festival, gigs will be held at the Sage, Carling Academy, Cloony and Digital. Details of these are still to be confirmed.
