New York smokey vocalist Nell Bryden releases her new single, ‘What Does It Take’ later this month, and her second album of the same title on 27th July 2009. Recorded and produced by Grammy Award winning nob-twiddler, David Kershenbaum (Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman), it showcases Nell’s smooth and laid-back style, whilst mixing up elements of Bluegrass and American Jazz.
This is the follow up to the hugely entertaining debut, ironically titled, ‘Second Time Around’ that came out to critical acclaim last year, which was her breakthrough year, causing much excitement from many people including Terry Wogan. Nell was also asked by Armed Forces Entertainment (USO) to play a tour for the coalition troops serving in Kuwait and Iraq â€" which resulted in a live album of this tour.
There is a feeling that Nell may well be teetering on the edge of going mainstream this year, and her new album and tour of UK and Ireland may well see her go further than the ‘Best Unsigned Artist Of 2008’ award that she won last year.
