US cult sensations Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros will head to the UK in March for three very special shows at the Old Vic Tunnels in London. The band will be headlining as well as curating the event, which will include exciting performances from other bands, artists and film screenings.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have been wowing audiences all over the world for the past two years with their now legendary live shows, including us at SXSW in 2009. In March 2011 the band will mount their most ambitious show to date creating the ultimate SHARPE experience in London's fabulous new venue, Kevin Spacey's Old Vic Tunnels. The actor personally invited the band to perform at this unique space, a maize of underground rooms and tunnels that hosted some of the most innovative exhibitions and performances of last year. Throughout the three nights, guests will be entertained by a multitude of non traditional performers in an atmosphere and setting that is derived directly from the mind of the band themselves. The Old Vic Tunnels will be transformed into a new frontier, the Wild West on planet Mars, lunar deserts and red skies, the design inspired by classic films such as Holy Mountain and El Topo along with newer psychedelic western films like Renegade, giving the audience an extraordinary experience.

The event will be hosted by 'supernatural entertainer' Lior Suchard, who will introduce an array of weird and wonderful performances that promises to be a feast for all the senses.

The shows will take place ahead of lead singer Alexander's beautiful solo record, due for release in April. The band are currently working on their second Edward Sharpe album, due out this summer.
