Louise Distras has launched a brand new music series for the web, showcasing street performances of brand new tracks featured on Louise's forthcoming debut album, due for release in late 2012 / early 2013.
"Thanks to illegal downloading the value of music has been lost, leaving the music industry on its knees. The major label pipedream is dead and as a result, artists are having to find other ways to get their music out there before their records get leaked..." says Louise.
"The beauty of an acoustic guitar is that you can perform in any place, at any time. So my friend Jason and I decided to have some fun in between album recording sessions and film the ultimate street test of the new album tracks in their purest form - guerrilla style - on the streets of Wakefield and London. It goes back to that D.I.Y punk rock ethic that if you want to achieve something and make a change, you get up and do it because if you don't help yourself, nobody else will. That same ethic applies to every aspect in life whether it be music, politics or both...and thanks to the internet, I now get to share my new album tracks with the rest of the world...but on my own terms."
Episode one, Shades Of Hate (filmed in London), is available to watch now at www.louisedistras.co.uk, to be followed by episode two ahead of the 2012 Olympics and Louise's performance at this years Rebellion Punk Festival in Blackpool, where you can catch Louise live on the Almost Acoustic Stage on Sunday 5th August at 3.20pm
