As the festival season draws to a close with their big named acts, it's time to start looking towards the future and check out an up and coming band whose debut EP has been impressing us at R13. Sweden has a good track record of giving us some great metal bands and that great tradition continues with our Band of the Month for September, Overworld

Bio:
We are Overworld, an alternative metal band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. We formed quite recently, in 2011, but the band's members are hardly new to the scene, solely consisting of musicians from other well-known Swedish underground acts such as Still Echo and Kyrielle. We play a brand of music self-titled as "adrenaline rock 'n' roll metal" with a big focus on explosive live shows, and we value our amazing fan base above all.

Our self-released debut EP, Perfect Anomaly, was released digitally worldwide at May 25th, 2012, instantly climbing to the top of iTunes Sweden and charting in at #12 in All Albums and #5 in Rock. We recently recorded a music video for one of the tracks from the EP, the song being Until We're Dead, and the video is tentatively due early September.

Members:
The band consists of:
Endigo on vocals
Kaz on guitar
Nikke on guitar
Lynx on bass
Andie on drums.

Influences:
Life, emotions, dreams, ambitions - feelings. And also a lot of kickass music.

Sounds Like:
Your favorite ice-cold drink during an extremely hot summer's day. In other words; pretty awesome.

Current release and where it's available:
Our self-released debut EP Perfect Anomaly has 5 tracks on it and is available for digital purchase worldwide, at sites and services such as iTunes, Amazon, Deezer and Spotify.

Up and coming artists you would recommend:
Well, we need all the promotion we can get so the only logical thing is to recommend ourselves! Haha. But in all seriousness, there are a lot of talented bands around, especially on Sweden's underground scene. We'd feel bad to just name one or two of them.

Future Plans:
Get bigger and better. Bigger and better. Bigger and better... and then become the biggest and the best! Travel the world, meet amazing people everywhere and entertain them. And, in a more close future, release our first video. We're also planning a big surprise for the end of the year, although that might prove to be in vain if the world ends. But hey, let's stay positive!

Tour Dates:
We're currently on our first tour entitled "Perfect Anomaly Tour" which has almost exclusively taken place in Sweden. The dates left on this tour are as follows:
September
08, WTF Stehag - Eslov, Sweden
21, Dieselverkstaden - Stockholm, Sweden
October
20, 1200 Kvadrat - Goteborg, Sweden
27, Rockbitch Boat - Stockholm, Sweden & Riga, Latvia (with Skitarg & The Resistance & Degradead etc)
28, Livu Square - Riga, Latvia

If you were the prime minister for one day, what would you do:
Endigo: I'd use all my channels to give Overworld the best goddamn promotion in the world.

Andie: I'd ban and confiscate all the mint candies in the world just so I could keep them for myself!

If you could go back to any time in history, where would you go and why:
Endigo: I'd go back and meet Jimi Hendrix as a little boy and make sure he never found love for the guitar. Instead, I'd present him with an accordion and watch as all the famous guitarists the next few decades instead turned out as famous accordion players!

Andie: I'd go back to when I was a kid and convince myself not to buy that funny-looking clown doll I bought when I was 4, which then proceeded to haunt me throughout my childhood. It looked so funny at first but when the nights came, oh the nights, the darkness, the horror... I don't like clowns.

Is there anything you would like to say to our readers?:
Stay cool, stay awesome, and check out Overworld. You won't be disappointed. Much love and rock 'n' roll metal to all!

Our thanks to Overworld, particularly Andie and Endigo, for answering our questions. Be sure to keep an eye out on our video section for when the official video for Until We're Dead is released. In the meantime, here is a taster of the said track.
