We're not far away from the heavy, sludgy, riff induced madness that is Desertfest so here at Room Thirteen we have decided to put together a list of the top seven must see bands to check out across the weekend.

Kvelertak

Well, what can we say about this band. Having Kvelertak headline the Electric Ballroom on the Saturday night is a major coup for the festival as they are one of the most exciting live bands in all of heavy music at the moment. Expect carnage and owls. Don't say we didn't warn you. Kvelertak are headlining the Electric Ballroom on Saturday Night at 8.45pm.

Elder

Enter the leaders of the new wave of Stoner Riffs. These Bostonians bring a special treat of Desert fuelled psychedelic heavy rock. Like many of the bands on the line up, they have a no frills swagger about them. They'll turn up, plug in their gear and riff your face off. Elder are playing the Electric Ballroom at 7pm Sunday.

Weedeater

One of those 'must see live' kind of bands. They showcase a breadth of huge Stoner/Metal tunes across their albums, but the ferocity live is a whole different beast. Weedeater are playing the Electric Ballroom at 7pm Saturday.

Sixty Watt Shaman

Apart from having an excellent band name, Sixty Watt Shaman are quite a rare occasion on the live circuit these days. They'll be bringing the whiskey soaked attitude harder than anyone else all weekend. Sixty Watt Shaman are playing at The Underworld at 7.30pm on Friday.

Zodiac

This German four-piece band are on the rise, and fast. Bringing their own dose of Heavy Blues Rock, Zodiac have been impressing audiences across Europe. Perhaps not as savage as some other bands on the line up but once they hit the stage it will be a welcome reprieve which will no doubt mesmerise the audience. Zodiac are playing at The Black Heart at 7.30pm on Friday.

Eagle Twin

This duo will bring as much noise as any four or five piece band all weekend. Their riffs are unforgivable, their vocals bone shattering. Expect some huge dark and epic soundscapes. Eagle Twin are playing at The Underworld at 9.15pm on Sunday.

Boris

Now if you've got yourself too drunk from excitement on Friday afternoon and find yourself waking up a in a regretful mess under the pool table in The Black Heart on Sunday Evening then don't fear if you've missed all your favourite bands. Boris bring Sludge, Stoner, Doom, Drone, Psychedelic and more in equal measure. They'll no doubt leave everyone awestruck. Boris are headlining the Electric Ballroom on Sunday Night at 10pm.

Desertfest takes place on 25th-27th April in various venues across Camden Town.
