Camden Rocks gets bigger and better every year. With over 200 bands and about 4238723956 stages there will truly always be something for you to watch across the day. This year's line up has expanded the amount of heavy hitters across the line up, many of which will be gracing far larger stages at some of the major festivals in the UK this year, so you are spoiled to be seeing them in some of these intimate venues! With so many bands this list was of course difficult to construct, but the following eight are bands that absolutely cannot be missed.

Orange Goblin

Headlining the Barfly, these sludgy heavy monsters are sure to deliver an absolutely blistering set, cementing once again the fact that they are one of the best heavy live bands around at the moment. Within the tight confines of the Barfly, this will be one sweaty chaotic set you don't want to miss. Orange Goblin headline the Barfly at 21:30pm.

Turbowolf

When Turbowolf played this festival last year, they headlined The Monarch and the place got absolutely destroyed. This band always bring a frenzied atmosphere but that surpassed probably even their expectations. This time around they are based in the far larger Electric Ballroom but don't assume the show will be any less mental. New material in hand, how fast is your wolf?! Turbowolf play Electric Ballroom at 18:45pm

Baby Godzilla

If you've never been to a Baby Godzilla show before, and you plan on going to this one, bring a helmet. You will have one of the band members on your head for at least a portion of the show, whether it be the front man or the drummer. Their discography isn't that expansive but they've more than made a name for themselves live. Mentioned above that Turbowolf destroyed The Monarch last year, Baby Godzilla may even take it a step further. Baby Godzilla are headlining Monarch at 22:00pm

The Hell

THE HELL YOU DICK! Yeah. The Hell are a bit of an enigma, no one really knows the identity of the band members, and they will shout in your face about your Nan until they can no longer breathe, but they deliver a superbly exciting live set. The running theme here is chaos, and The Hell carry that in abundance. Their new album drops in a few months so expect to hear some new tunes as well. The Hell are playing The Black Heart at 21:00pm

Palm Reader

Palm Reader are one of the most exciting hardcore bands on the scene at the moment. Live they deliver a rib shattering heaviness mixed with an excellent delicate intricacy. It is a genuine surprise they're not on one of the bigger stages, but the Purple Turtle's tight squeeze will add a heightened intensity to the whole thing. Key advice here would be to get down there early, because Palm Reader will draw a big crowd. Palm Reader play The Purple Turtle at 19:00pm

Hang The Bastard

Hang The Bastard's stock is seriously rising at the moment. They crush together huge doom laden Black Sabbath style riffs with a savage metalcore twist. Looking across the line up they are arguably the heaviest band on there, and their position on the bill, before Orange Goblin, will trigger an apocalyptic couple of hours at the Barfly. Hang The Bastard are playing the Barfly at 20:30pm.

Ginger Wildheart

Ginger has been writing music for a good couple of decades now, and this is a really great opportunity to see the legend himself in an intimate setting. Expect to hear tunes from across his varied back catalogue, whether it be Wildhearts material or stuff from his solo project. Ginger Wildheart is playing the Jazz Café at 19:00pm.

Black Dogs

Black Dogs impressed hugely when they released their latest album Grief and live they've backed it up just as well. They deliver a spectacularly heavy breed of hardcore, with snarling Northern vocals that just sound spiteful and nasty. There is no mistaking that this is a young, hungry and pissed off group of guys and you'd be a fool to ignore them. Black Dogs are playing Monarch at 18:00pm
