R13: Please can you sum up Broken Dolls in one sentence?
Jay: Lock up your daughters and mothers.
R13: You are almost at the end of your UK tour, how has it been going?
Jay: The tour has been great. We have had some fantastic shows and audiences, and they just keep getting better!
R13: What is the best thing about touring?
Jay: Being away from home with the lads, the banter and playing to different crowds.
R13: What one moment would you say has defined your musical career so far?
Jay: There are four really. Playing at the Radio One Big Weekend in Birmingham, Glastonbury New Stage, recording...Recording our first album with Jim Abbiss (Kasabian/ Unkle/ Artic Monkeys) and Jagz Kooner (Primal Scream/ The Music/ Radio 4)
R13: What Broken Dolls' song are you most proud of?
Jay: We all have our favourites and they all have a particular meaning to us but it would have to be Rock and Roll, that's the one that started it all off for us.
R13: Are you surprised at the reactions you have been receiving from the audiences?
Jay:The humble thing would be to say yes but we have worked very hard to get our sound and performance to where it is now. The crowds that come to our gigs see a gang of lads having fun on stage and they want to be a part of it.
R13: What are you planning to do next?
Jay: Have a shower! The tour may be over but there is always work to be done in the dolls house. Writing, recording and rehearsing!!
R13: How do people usually take to your infectious brand of Dance Rock?
Jay: They move, get into it, dance, sing and join in with us. Some jump around, some throw their pants on the stage!
R13: What do you think about the 'dance rock' scene?
Jay: It's great that musical styles can be fused and appreciated by so many. Of course, with the exception of Westlife and swing.
R13: When will you be releasing an album?
Jay: February to March.
R13: What one thing you hate about the current music scene?
Jay: They way some people pay more attention to an artist's 'hobby' than their bloody music!!!
R13: Who are you favourite bands?
Jay: Shit. There are six of us in this band. How long have you got?
R13: What bands have influenced you most?
Jay: Primal Scream, Blur, Led Zeppelin. There are a lot of new bands that we hear and they can also have influence too they don't always have to be the old favourites, we are open to most things!
R13: What do you think of the illegal downloading of music?
Jay: Put your hands in your pockets, tight fisted bastards!
R13: Any final words for the fans out there?
Jay: Thanks for all the support. Just keep doing what you're doing and spread the word!
