So as Boardmasters begins it's 31st year of celebrating surf, skate and (sometimes) sunshine, anticipation is well and truly at its peak with festival goers and professionals alike wondering who will be winning the surf and skate competitions this year.
Boardmasters Festival is well known for its incredibly chilled out atmosphere yet perfectly party-filled nights combined with an amazing selection of sport and music.
This year, taking to the stage, is an impressive line up dispersed over 8 stages, including an outstanding variation of genres. There's literally going to be something for everyone. To name but a few; Ed Sheeran, Dizzee Rascal, Maximo Park, DJ Fresh, Zane Lowe, Pulled Apart By Horses and Young Guns are all making appearances, meaning this festival is absolutely going to end on a high.
The sporting events are already underway having started on the 6th August, yet will be continuing throughout the week. Beach Sessions, which include live sets from the phenomenal Reel Big Fish, The Black Seeds and more, will start from Wednesday 8th and the music festival itself will take place over the weekend 11th and 12th August.
If you haven't booked your tickets already, I recommend you do so as soon as possible. Newquay is by far one of the most enjoyable, beautiful and energetic places within the UK and I cannot think of a more perfect place to hold such a festival as this. It's going to be the festival of the summer.
