Metallica have announced that their 1996 album Load will be getting the reissue treatment - an enticing prospect for fans globally as it follows the veins of previous huge reissues from the back catalogue in recent years.

Coming on June 13 via the band's Blackened Recordings label, the album has been remastered by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering, assisted by Greg Fidelman.

Load will be released on CD, 2LP and digital formats, as well as a limited-edition deluxe box set which promises to be "an ambitious and comprehensive time capsule of 1995-97 era Metallica". The box set will be offering demos, rough mixes, live performances and TV appearances. It also contains a Mama Said picture disc, and the Loadapalooza live album, recorded at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre on August 4, 1996, alongside merch including a Pushead patch, guitar and bass picks, lyric sheets and more.

We're due to receive over 1800 hours of history as we near the original album's 30-year anniversary.
