Deep Purple played a secret gig at London's Hard Rock Café last week, partly to launch the bands forth coming new album, and partly to mark the reopening of the venue, which was gutted by fire some time ago.

The set lasted over an hour and was made up of ten tracks, some from the new 'Rapture of the Deep' album and a classic or two including rounding off with 'Smoke on the Water'. The show was filmed but as yet there are no details as to what, if anything the footage will be used for.

Fans will soon be able to see two live tracks from the band as part of the forth coming Live 8 DVD, as 'Smoke on the Water' and 'Hush' are both included from the Toronto leg of the event.

'Rapture of the Deep' is out on October 24th.
