Jack White is planning to take a break from the White Stripes to concentrate on his latest project. He has teamed up with long standing friend Brendan Benson to work under the name The Raconteurs, and there's material on its way.
The pair have been working on some tracks at Benson's Detroit home with the plan of releasing it in early 2006.
White told the American Music Magazine Rolling Stone that he doesn't want this to sound anything like the White Stripes.
"This is a full on band, dual song writers, building off one another, bouncing off each other."
If you're interested, and hadn't already spotted, the band name Raconteurs is taken from the French for 'skilled teller of anecdotes'.
