Hard-Fi have been confirmed as the headline act for the New Year celebrations in Edinburgh this year. They follow in the footsteps of the likes of the Scissor Sisters in playing the prestigious slot in the Cities Princes' Street Gardens.

The band will perform a fifty-five minute set which is to finish just before midnight. They aren't however confirming the story in some of the tabloids that suggests they're being paid a six figure sum for the show.

They also plan to re-release their debut single 'Cash Machine' on December 5th. This is just over a year after it first surfaced and got the ball rolling for what has turned out to be an incredible twelve months for them. A year that has included their debut album nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, opening for Greenday at Milton Keynes in the summer and a collection of massive hit singles to their name.
