It doesn't seem that the recent departure of Tarja Turunen has effected the creativity of Nightwish mainman Tuomas Holopainen. The keyboardist has been telling the Finnish press that he's completed work on two new songs for the group's next studio album which is not expected to surface until 2007. The band are hoping to
Begin recording in September 2006, but they're willing to push back the planned recording sessions for their next album back some more so as to allow the right replacement for the recently departed Tarja Turunen to be found.

As with 2004's 'Once', the band's next CD will likely take at least six months to record, which means that the new singer's contributions to the next album will not be put down on tape until sometime in early 2007.

As far as the sort of person that the band are looking to recruit, Holopainen has given the following criteria, is it you?

"The new singer will be chosen not only for her singing skills. She must also be beautiful, charismatic and she must possess a great deal of self-esteem. We will not necessarily pick a Tarja clone. We will be open to a slightly new sound, especially when it comes to the vocalist."
