Idlewild have left their record label EMI/Parlophone after eight years and four albums. Singer Roddy Woomble's posted a message on their official website stating that they'd fulfilled their record contract and saying it seemed like a good time to move on. The band promise more news regarding a new label and a new record soon.

The band's last album with EMI was 'Warning/Promises' which was released earlier this year, and followed the 2002 release of 'The Remote Part'.

In other news, Roddy also writes that he recently got married which he describes as "the best thing I've done with my life. I don't know you so I won't go into the details, but it was wonderful".
