The city that has been at the center of all that is great about British music for decades finally gets a radio station to reflect this next month.

X FM Manchester launches at 8 AM on Wednesday 15th March and joins X FM stations in London and Scotland in their mission to bring quality music to UK radio.

The line up is a who's who of the Manchester music Scene and features Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam and Factory Records legend Tony Wilson.

The line up so far looks like this:

Weekdays:
6-10am - Paul Tonkinson (local comedian and formerly on Big Breakfast and the Sunday Show)
10-1pm - Adam Cole (winner of two Sony Radio Awards)
1-4pm - Gareth Brooks (From X FM in London)
4-7pm - Mark Kaye (local radio presenter)
7-10pm (Mon-Thurs) Clint Boon

X FM's owner Gcap Media recently rebranded their Scottish station Beat106 to create X FM Scotland. The London station has been on the air since the end of summer 1997.

X FM Manchester will be on 97.7 FM, as well as digital radio and the net.
