Radiohead have announced three UK shows for this May, where the band will road test new material.

The group are still working on new songs and it is possible that they will release one as a download-only single around the tour.

In a statement, the band said: "We're excited to be touring again, especially to play new songs to an audience. For the first time, we have no contract or release deadline to fulfill, it's both liberating and terrifying.

"To keep things more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs that are work in progress. We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited about it, rather than wait twelve months for a full-blown album release. Music's not just about all-time greats, it's also a document of its time, and we want to be able to put out a song when it feels right."

The May tour begins in Europe before visiting:

Blackpool Empress Ballroom (12-13)
Wolverhampton Civic (15-16)
London Hammersmith Apollo (18-19)

Tickets for these shows go on sale this Saturday (25th April) at 9 AM. Support for these dates will come from Willy Mason.

The band have also got the following shows for August already scheduled, including headlining the V Festival.

V Festival (August 19-20)
Edinburgh Meadowbank Stadium (22)
Dublin Marlay Park (24)
