The first names for Radio 1's annual free music festival have been announced.

This year '1 Big Weekend' takes place in Dundee, and will feature a host of acts showcasing new material.

Muse, Razorlight Snow Patrol and Keane will all be appearing, plus Feeder will bring their greatest hits set to Scotland just a couple of weeks after their 'Singles' album hits the shops.

The line-up so far is:

Saturday 13th May:

Muse, Snow Patrol, Streets, Razorlight, Orson, Gnarls Barkley, Paolo Nutini and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Sunday 14th May:

Feeder, Keane, Ordinary Boys, Editors and the Feeling, as well as Pink and Sugababes.

The second stage, 'In New Music We Trust' line-up will be announced this evening.

Tickets for this event are free. Radio 1 will reveal details of how you can get hold of them later in the week.

In previous year's the majority of tickets have been handed out at specially set up box offices in the host town or city, but on the breakfast show this morning Chris Moyles hinted that this would change as it has been a nightmare for both fans and organizers.
