The final batch of weekend camping tickets for Download have been released today. Despite the increase in camping spaces available, the festival has seen a huge demand for tickets, so anyone without accommodation should buy their tickets soon!
With a further 13 fantastic artists added to the line-up, Download has strengthened its ranks further. Joining the party are Ill Nino, After Forever, Lights.Action!, Kids in Glass Houses, The Hedrons, The Higher, Sanctity, Lauren Harris, Malpractice, Cult of Luna, My Dying Bride, Eyelash and Parikrama.
Not only this, but Joey Jordison is set to fill in for Korn's drummer David Silveria. After his fantastic performance with Metallica in 2004, R13 is expecting a blinding performance that will more than make up for 2006s set when Johnathan Davis was unable to play due to illness.
Download has several new plans in place for 2007, including giving out a million condoms for free and reducing the carbon footprint of the festival. There will be a variety of ways to get involved and learn more at the festival. As well as the eco-friendly approach to the festival, there are more firsts to come- Parikrama will be the first Indian band to play the festival and the band are apparently very excited.
Parikrama's keyboardist, Subir Malik said "this is our first International concert, and I really don't think that anyone would be more lucky than us, to have it in the form of the Download festival. We are a 16 year old band, with more than a 1000 concert appearances, but suddenly we feel as we were just formed yesterday. The rockers in India are really excited and so are we. Really looking forward to kick some serious butt at Download!"
Ill Nino will also be playing at the festival and singer Christian Machado is very excited at being able to play at the event, "Download is the coolest festival in the entire world. People come to Download from all over the galaxy. It is an honour to be able to play the best festival in the world, especially this year, we have so many friends that are also playing the bill. We want to show our gratitude to everyone in the UK by playing the most brutal, aggressive and beautiful performance. We love the UK! I am so excited, I have to change my underwear now."
