It may be undervalued in comparison to another major Scottish festival, but the second year of Indian Summer showcases a line-up which features so many critically acclaimed and exciting bands, it has to be worth a look. It may only last two days and there may only be four stages but when the quality far outstrips the quantity, all Glasgow roads are heading to the West End of the City this weekend.

Headliners
Wilcoand the
Flaming Lipsmay not sell multi-millions, but they both evoke a strange and very loyal affection in many peoples hearts, with their live shows being at the very core of this. The attitude of both bands may be very different, Wilco at times having an insular attitude whilst the Lips are probably the most welcoming and all-encompassing band, but theres something for everything and great music for all. With Main Stage support from acts like Spiritualized, The Rapture, Midlake and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah amongst many others, it's a left-field music jamboree.

Don't think its just all about the Main Stage though as the BBC 6 Music Hub Stage has pulled off an outstanding, if completely unexpected headliner for the Saturday night. The name Daniel Johnston may not mean much to you, but he is a favourite artist of some of your favourite artists and Kurt Cobain practically lived in a t-shirt featuring one of Daniels unique illustrations. If you've chanced across the film 'The Devil and Daniel Johnston' you'll be aware the man doesn't have his troubles to seek and if you haven't seen the film, stop what you're doing and go see it. All journalist objectivity aside, this is one act that shouldn't be missed, if even for the sheer un-predictability of it all.

With two of Glasgow's favourite sons in Optimo curating and headlining their own tent and an additional acoustic tent set up, alongside sporting events, picnic areas and everything you don't expect from a Scottish festival, Indian Summer is looking to step on from last years promising debut and become a major name in the Scottish festival industry.

Room Thirteen will be there to see just how it manages along.
