A DVD of The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At the Monterey Festival is to be released on October 29.
This special edition DVD features all of the existing film footage from Jimi's incendiary June 18, 1967 concert. The footage has been re-edited, making this the first time Jimi's legendary performance will be captured on DVD in its original performance sequence.
To mark the release, a band featuring members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience will perform at a DVD screening, to be held in London on October 25.
The band will be guitarist, Gary Moore, and surviving Jimi Hendrix Experience members, Mitch Mitchell (drums) and Billy Cox (the bassist who also played in Hendrix's Band of Gypsys), plus Darrin Mooney (drums) of Primal Scream and Dave Bronze (guitar).
