It’s AC/DC rumour time again, hurrah!
A few sites are going with stories re gigs. So like sheep, we'll follow them, altogether now: baaa!
This time, Planet Rock, Metal Hammer and TotalRock are among those reporting that AC/DC will play a handful of low-key club shows from late January, including one in Reinach, Switzerland on January 25. The venue’s website has a gig listed on that day being by a “special guest” although no name is given.
Planet Rock go on to say that a Spannish website called Rafabasa.com are also claiming that the band will release their new album later in the Spring. The UK rock radio station then points out that the name tipped for the record was rumoured a couple of years ago, and was apparently found to be made up.
A world tour is also said to be “rumoured” but then it would be wouldn’t it?
In short, lots of people are saying similar things about the return of one of the planet’s greatest bands. Some or all of this could be bobbins of course, but wouldn’t it be great if finally something actually happened in the world of AC/DC?
Their last major UK live appearance was the Milton Keynes show in summer 2001, where they headlined a massive day of music that also featured Offspring, Queens of the Stone Age and Megadeth.
