Reading and Leeds Festival will announce the first acts this coming Monday (March 31).

Tickets will go on sale at 6:45pm on the same night.

A weekend ticket with camping will cost £155, day
tickets are £65. Children under 13 are allowed in free but must have a ticket holding adult with them. Disabled fans must call 020 8961 5490 to request the Festival Republic booklet which details facilities available across all their festivals, as well as the two-for-one ticket scheme.

As far as rumours are concerned, we already know that all three headliners are to be Americans.

Rage Against the Machine are heavily tipped, as are The Killers who have a date in Dublin scheduled in the run up to the festival.

Metallica and Slipknot are also being linked with the festival.

There will be a BBC Introducing Stage for the first time, so expect plenty of new and emerging acts alongside the multi-million sellers.

Since 2007’s event, Festival Republic and Carling have reached the end of the sponsorship deal which saw the twin sited festival named The Carling Weekend. No corporate branding has been saught for 2008, with the organizers keen for Reading and Leeds to move away from this.

R13 has been covering Leeds Festival since 2004, with some content from Reading over the years too.
