Indie/Alt/Rockers The Crimea have announced that their third album will be entitled, ‘Listen To Seashells; They Know Everything’, and should be released in early 2009. It has been 75% recorded and will be finally mixed in NY. This follows on from the band’s second album, ‘Secrets Of The Witching Hour’ that was released last year, and could be purchased as normal, and also in a quite groundbreaking move, was also available as a free download from the band’s website.
There is also a new member, Ms Tara Egan Langley who replaces temporary member Annie Mac, and it is said by the band that “…her voice could drive the Spanish Armada onto the rocks…”, which is of course something that all musicians and singers strive for. Her shipwrecking voice has already been heard on the band’s Myspace page through two demo tracks off of the new album, ‘Last Plane Outta Saigon’ and ‘Grace Of God’.
Madcap and slightly mentally off-kilter frontman Davey MacManus will be doing two solo shows at the Enterprise in Camden on 20/11/08 & 04/12/08, respectively.
The Crimea recently finished a successful US tour and also reached the 100,000 downloads of ‘Secrets Of The Witching Hour’, and to celebrate this there is a new version on the website with the original ‘secrets’ read by a singer the band found in deep dark Mississippi called Tywanna Jo Baskette…
