Jeff Buckley could be on the verge of a top forty hit this Christmas.

The late singer’s version of the Leonard Cohen written ‘Hallelujah’, which appeared on his 1994 debut album ‘Grace’, is set to be performed by the winner of the X-Factor, as the TV show takes it’s annual stranglehold on the festive chart.

The Buckley version already sits just outside the top forty at number 43, but, not surprisingly, fans of the singer are campaigning via sites such as Facebook, to get theclassic to the top spot.

In other anti-X-Factor Facebook news, the Pogues for number 1 group has made it’s return.

‘Fairytale of New York’ reached number 4 twelve months ago.
