Original prankster pop/punkers, Blink 182 are back together as per various reports. However, Travis Barker is still to fully recover from the near fatal plane crash he was in late last year, and Tom DeLonge still seems slightly uncomfortable and less enthusiastic than third member Mark Hoppus, who was seen shouting, “Blink 182 are back!” at the recent Grammy Awards in February, all sparking much tongue-wagging about the reasons behind the reunion.

Mark was very vocal on his loneliness when DeLonge and Barker had their stint in the underrated side-project band, Box Car Racer, in 2002-2003, and whilst DeLonge has had some success with his Emo band, Angels & Airwaves, it was clear that the world wasn’t quite getting it just as much as he was. Hoppus and Barker formed the slightly-bland Pop/Punk of, +44, but it was again clear that any success rode heavily on the coat-tails of Blink.

DeLonge has been quick to add that he has commitments to Angels & Airwaves, and therefore a new Blink album is not likely until 2010, however Hoppus has already been heard suggesting that a tour and album will be released some time this year. It is no secret that DeLonge had not spoken to his Blink band mates in a long time, although they still remained partners in the clothing company Atticus. However this isn’t an entirely new thing as it was reported that Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx , both of Motley Crue, hated each other for years, with Neil only going into the studio to record his vocals when the other band members weren’t around…

Although there is no confirmation, apparently Geek/Punkers, Weezer have already been confirmed as the support act on an up and coming summer tour with Blink 182, and currently six new songs have been written for teh new album. We’ll wait and see…
