The nominations for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize have been announced.
The award is given to a British or Irish act releasing an album within the last year, last year’s winner was Elbow.
Among the nominated acts are Kasabian, Glasvegas, Friendly Fires and Bat For Lashes.
The full list, from where a winner will be chosen on September 8, is as follows:
